Tom's Story

Tom's 32 year experience started when he first left school all the way back in 1995. He began working for T.F Briley & Sons a well established family run, London based Decorating firm. He quickly learned the basics with his Grandfather, father, uncle and older brother all teaching him the ropes.

The vast majority of work undertaken by his family was located deep in the city of London were they undertook contracts to refurbish large bars and restaurants for various different breweries. The work regularly consisted of installing high end wallpapers, wood graining, French polishing, wood staining and many other aspects of fine finishing. Tom was fortunate enough to work alongside his grandfather for a few years, Thomas Francis Briley before the old boy finally hung up he brushes, a time Tom will always treasure.

For the next 5-10 years, Tom continued to develop his skills whilst working alongside his Farther Graham, a master wallpaper hanger and his uncle Pat an expert in wood graining and marbling. Tom continued slowly developing his finishing skills and begun dabbling the art of spray painting.

In 2005, Tom decided to leave T. F Briley & Sons to pursue more experience and began working for the mighty, Hare & Humphreys of London. There he had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most talented and creative individuals from around the capital. After a while, Tom quickly came to realise he’s own attention to detail and finishing levels were easily on par with his work colleague's which gave him the confidence and belief to embark on his own journey.

Tom laid the foundations and built, Perfection Decorating Ltd where he continued to develop his spraying skills and knowledge. The company quickly gained its outstanding reputation in and around Kent & Sussex while at the same time, the spray industry continued to grow with ever new and improved technology being developed in airless and air assisted spraying.

Over the last 15 years, Tom has followed his passion in spray finishing and has completely moved away from high end decorating, transitioning solely into spray finishing! Tom's 32 years experience has seen him working in some of the most beautiful estate homes and grandest of buildings in and around the city of London.
