Furniture Preparation and Spraying

Furniture Preparation and Spraying

We have all heard the saying, “it’s all in the prep,” and when it comes to spray finishing, that really is true. With a thorough preparation process, it is possible to achieve a beautiful, durable, high-end finish.

Many people have old pieces of furniture at home that they no longer love but do not want to throw away. Rather than letting them gather dust, refinishing them with a professional spray finish can completely transform their look. With sheen levels from 5% to 90% and an extensive choice of colours, we can breathe new life into your old furniture and help create feature pieces that elevate the feel of your home.

A wide range of items can be professionally sprayed, including kitchen units, household furniture, shelving, cabinets, and built-in bespoke media walls.

  • Hard wearing and durable
  • Factory standard finish
  • 5% - 90% sheen levels available
  • Only water-based, low-odour spray systems used

Furniture Respraying

What is the furniture spraying process?

Take a look below at our furniture respraying process.

Step One

Any surface with existing lacquer or vanish is stripped back.

Step Two

All surfaces are thoroughly sanded avoiding any rounding of edges.

Step Three

Any holes, chips, scratches and cracks are filled with durable 2 pack fillers.

Step Four

The surfaces are then hovered, dusted and wiped completely with tack cloths.

Step Five

Once the prep is complete, the first prime coat is applied making any other imperfections visible.

Step Six

A second prime is then added giving a solid foundation for the top coats. X2 top coats are then added.

Step Seven

Matt, semi or high gloss finishes are achievable in any colour using long lasting, quality paints such as Farrow & Ball and Little Greene.
